Florida's 2023 Legislative Session Comes To An End

Lawmakers in Tallahassee getting ready to head home as the sixty-day legislative session comes to an end. Barry University's Sean Foreman says Republicans got everything they wanted, thanks to the supermajority in both chambers. But he says some in the G-O-P are upset some of the laws, like the six-week abortion ban and concealed carry, don't go far enough.Lawmakers expanded on the so-called "Don't Say Gay" law, lowered capital punishment standards and banned colleges from using state or federal funding for diversity, equity and inclusion programs. They also voted to restructure Disney's central Florida district. Governor DeSantis is expected to announce his presidential run in the coming weeks.
