FL Legislative Session Is Underway

Lawmakers are back to work in Tallahassee as the legislative kicked off this morning.

FL Senate President Kathleen Passidomo says they're looking at a number of tax cuts.

FL House Speaker Paul Renner says they look to do much of the same in his chamber.

State lawmakers are also set to tackle education, reproductive rights, immigration and the state budget this session which runs through May.

Governor Ron DeSantis giving his State of the State address to a joint session of the FL legislature.

DeSantis says FL is the fastest growing state in the nation, number one for net in-migration, number one in economic growth among large states and tops for space related development.

Florida Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book says she doesn't recognize the kind of freedom that Governor DeSantis is promoting.

Senator Book is urging all Floridians to pay attention to what happens in the state legislature over the next 60 days as Governor DeSantis is vying to be the most conservative Governor in the nation.
