Palm Beach County Sheriff Cites Development For Budget Increase Request

Palm Beach County's Sheriff cites growing development in his request for a six percent budget increase.

Ric Bradshaw is asking the county for $703.6 million to run his agency in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, which begins October 1.

In a budget summary sent to the county commission, he writes that "with the resurgence of large-scale home building and commercial development across the county, the sheriff's office continues to be challenged by the increased law enforcement demands that inevitably accompany such growth."

Bradshaw says his office received about 1.18 million calls in 2018.
