South Florida Food Pantries Looking For Meat & Other Proteins

South Florida food pantries struggling to find enough protein to fill Thanksgiving meal kits. Feeding South Florida CEO Paco Velez says tariffs, inflation and the government shutdown are to blame. He says in the beginning of October, they were helping an average of eighty families per day, now they're feeding up to two hundred families per day. Catholic Charities issued an urgent request for proteins. They're looking for canned tuna, chicken, beef, salmon and peanut butter. They will take frozen meats as well.
