(Miami Gardens, FL) - The Miami Hurricanes improved to 8-and-2 with a 41-7 win over NC State Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium.
Canes Head Coach Mario Cristobal saying his team played well on both sides of the ball. “Very much a game where it was complementary,” coach Cristobal said, “both sides showing up where they need to.”
The Hurricanes held a 24-0 lead at halftime thanks to a Carter Davis field goal, a Thomas 60-yard pick-six, a CharMar “Marty” Brown 1-yard touchdown run and a Toney 14-yard touchdown catch.
But, if the Canes want a to make the 12-team College Football Playoff, they will need to keep winning down the final stretch.
The final leg of the Hurricanes regular-season schedule includes road games at Virginia Tech on Nov. 22 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 29.
Miami will also surely need help to get to the playoffs. They are hoping for an at-large spot or an automatic bid as the ACC champion.
