Miami Gardens, FL - A drive-thru confrontation at a Miami Gardens McDonald’s allegedly escalated when an employee pulled a gun on a family waiting for their food early Sunday morning.
According to police, authorities say the incident occurred at the McDonald’s located at 4686 NW 183rd Street after a dispute between a customer and 19-year-old cashier Anthony Markeith Elliott III.
The customer, identified as Chayton Timmons, told police she was in the car with her pregnant daughter and one-year-old grandchild when the argument began over a food order that had been delayed for more than an hour.
According to the arrest report, Elliott allegedly refused to provide the family’s food and began arguing with them before following the vehicle outside.
Witnesses told investigators that Elliott then brandished a firearm from his waistband and pointed it toward the car.
The weapon was described by police as a silver handgun with a black grip.
Miami Gardens police responded to the scene and later arrested Elliott.
He was charged with five counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond.
Investigators said the restaurant’s manager corroborated the family’s account of the incident.
No injuries were reported, and authorities confirmed that the weapon was recovered.
The police report indicated that the dispute began as a customer service issue but allegedly escalated into a life-threatening situation in the restaurant’s drive-thru lane.
