Polk County, FL - Authorities are searching for a Florida man who allegedly assaulted a convenience store clerk by throwing a 2-liter soda bottle at his head, leaving the victim injured.
On Sunday, deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) were called to the scene of a reported battery at a convenience store on Old Highway 37 in Bradley.
Upon arrival, officers found a clerk with a concussion and significant bleeding above his right eye, which required ten stitches.
Surveillance footage from the store showed the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Terry Lamar Johnson Jr., entering with two other men.
According to deputies, Johnson confronted the victim, accusing him of “staring at him.”
After the victim instructed Johnson to make his purchase and leave, the suspect allegedly threw an unopened 2-liter bottle of Orange Crush soda at the victim’s head, knocking him unconscious.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Johnson on charges of felony battery resulting in great bodily harm.
The suspect remains at large, and deputies are seeking assistance from the public in locating him.
