Crawfordville, FL - Governor Ron DeSantis spoke on Monday about Florida’s economic momentum while announcing Point Blank Enterprises is opening a significant manufacturing facility in northern Florida.

According to economic data, Florida is among the top states in gross domestic product growth, and it continues to lead the nation in new business creation for the sixth straight year.

At a press event in Crawfordville, DeSantis emphasized that Florida has added approximately one hundred thousand manufacturing roles since he took office.

The spotlight of the announcement was a new production site for Point Blank Enterprises, a major manufacturer of body armor serving both law enforcement and military clients.

Headquartered in Pompano Beach, the company employs around four thousand people worldwide.

The new facility, located in Wakulla County’s Opportunity Park, will include one hundred thousand square feet of production space and eighteen thousand square feet of office space.

This expansion is expected to generate three hundred jobs averaging fifty two thousand nine hundred dollars per year.

It is backed by a combined eight million in grants from Florida’s Job Growth Grant Fund and Rural Infrastructure Fund.

DeSantis noted that manufacturing equipment like body armor protects public safety officers and that creating solid paying jobs accelerates local economic progress.

Local officials described the investment as a transformative moment for Wakulla County’s rural economy.
