A Florida congressman took questions from residents within his district.

Republican Brian Mast spent the day yesterday and last night in the three counties that are part of Congressional District 21, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie. He held three separate town hall events.

Among the comments he heard:

"With all the money that is possibly going to be saved by DOGE, do you think we're going to see an increase in our Social Security?"

"When is Congress going to put the money that they borrowed from Social Security back into Social Security?"

Social Security questions were some of the most common ones Mast fielded. He says there are no cuts going on to Social Security and points out that President Trump has made that clear.

At the St. Lucie town hall, he heard from this woman who came to support the Trump administration in its deportation efforts. She says she and her husband came to the country legally.

"We are proud to be American! But don't ask for pitiness for people who came here illegally!"

During one of three town hall events, Mast told the crowd not to let disagreement on issues stop them from asking for what they need.

"Never, please never let that be a hurdle to you reaching out to our office for assistance."

Mast says that no matter the political party, "it's important we continue to come together to talk about the issues."
