Miami-Dade May Add More To World Cup Coffer

Miami-Dade's mayor urging the county to shell out an extra 10-point-five million for the 2026 World Cup, even if it means a slight reduction in services. World Cup co-chair Rodney Barreto says all the money invested will come back to the county ten-fold. He says the economic impact will be like having seven Super Bowls at once. The extra ten-point-five million comes on top of the 36-million-dollar funding package for the games with a ten-point-five-million-dollar cash subsidy and 25 million in donated services.
