FLORIDA - Gas prices in Florida have remained relatively stable as the fuel supply chain recovers from the combined impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

According to AAA, the average gas price in Florida on Monday was $3.10 per gallon, which is the same as a week ago, 5 cents lower than last month, and 27 cents lower than last year.

The surge in demand for gasoline before and after Hurricane Milton led to temporary outages in Central Florida and along evacuation routes.

However, state officials report that the situation is improving, as Florida's ports and all but two gasoline terminals have resumed operations.

AAA estimates that approximately 20% of gas stations in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties currently lack gasoline.

Additionally, some stations may have fuel but are unable to operate their pumps due to power outages.

State representatives anticipate that normal fuel supplies are expected to be restored by Wednesday morning.
