Governor Ron DeSantis announcing that Florida has broken another tourism record.
He reports that during the second quarter of 2024, Florida welcomed 34 million visitors which is the highest second-quarter tourism statistic in Florida history.
And it is a 1.7 percent increase over the same period last year.
“Moving forward, we will continue to leverage our strengths to ensure that Florida remains the top destination for travelers worldwide,” Visit Florida President & CEO Dana Young said in the release from the governor’s office.
DeSantis says since he took office, Florida has become a tourism magnet attracting thousands of Americans from “Blue States” and relocate here.
Travelers from other parts of the U.S. accounted for 92 percent of Florida’s second-quarter visitors.
