Woman Arrested After I-95 DUI Crash, Attempting To Steal Deputies Taser

North Miami, FL - A 24-year-old woman faces charges after allegedly driving under the influence and attempting to steal a trooper’s Taser following a crash on Interstate 95.

Police say Alexis Mackenzie Franke was involved in a rollover accident on the northbound lanes of I-95 near Northwest 135th Street on Friday. 

When troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) arrived at the scene, they observed signs of impairment and attempted to place Franke in a patrol car.

According to FHP, Franke managed to grab another trooper's Taser and tried to use it. 

Troopers subdued Franke and placed her under arrest. 

The 24-year-old refused to take field sobriety or breathalyzer tests.

She was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, resisting arrest without violence, and two DUI citations. 

She was taken into custody and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond.
