Deputy Survives Attack After Drugged-Out Volunteer Bites Chunk Out of Head

Holmes County, FL - A Florida deputy is recovering after being attacked at the Vortex Springs SolFest by a drugged-out volunteer, who bit a chunk out of the deputy’s head while trying to grab his gun.

According to the Holmes County Sheriff's Office, the harrowing event unfolded when James Anderson, the volunteer in question, lunged at the unsuspecting deputy, savagely biting a significant portion of the officer's head while attempting to seize his firearm.

This occurred during a routine walking patrol at the festival.

In a desperate struggle to fend off the attacker, the deputy resorted to deploying his taser.

However, it was only with the timely intervention of multiple fellow deputies that Anderson was finally subdued.

Investigators have revealed that at the time of the attack, Anderson was under the influence of a cocktail of illicit substances, including PCP, LSD, ketamine, mushrooms, and ecstasy.

The injured deputy was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, as the community is left reeling from the unprovoked assault.

Anderson now faces serious charges of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, casting a somber shadow over the otherwise festive atmosphere of the Vortex Springs SolFest.
