Miami-Dade, FL - A South Florida man was arrested on Thursday on domestic violence charges after allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend during an argument over personal hygiene.
According to police, the couple, who have been together for three years, were involved in a verbal argument at their residence located on Northwest 97th Street in Miami-Dade County.
The argument reportedly stemmed from comments made regarding personal hygiene.
The victim, who is seven months pregnant, informed officers that the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Robert Stuart, left the bathroom after the initial disagreement before returning and physically attacking her.
The report states that Stuart pulled the victim's hair and struck her in the face multiple times.
The victim declined medical attention from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Stuart was arrested on battery charges and is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center awaiting a bond hearing.
