Man Arrested for Alleged Rape of Teen at South Florida Starbucks

Miami Beach, FL - A 30-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday on allegations that he raped a Miami Beach teenager inside a Starbucks last week.

The incident reportedly occurred on November 8th, with the victim informing a counselor at Miami Beach Senior High School the following day.

According to 30-year-old Dumond Chataigne's arrest report, the victim paid him $20 to purchase liquor for her.

After consuming the vodka, she became intoxicated, and when she went to use the restroom at a nearby Starbucks, Chataigne allegedly followed her inside and assaulted her.

The victim's friends, who arrived shortly after and knocked on the bathroom door, reported the assault to police officers at a McDonald's.

They mentioned having seen Chataigne in the area before, describing him as a "creep" known for making inappropriate comments toward middle and high school students.

Chataigne was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious battery on a child aged 12-16, lewd and lascivious molestation on a child aged 12-16, and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

As of Thursday afternoon, he was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.

Jail records also indicate that he is being held on an unrelated probation warrant.
