Man Arrested for Misusing 911 and Making Threats to Law Enforcement

Charlotte County, FL - Following a series of disturbing calls, a repeat offender has been arrested for misusing 911 and making threats to law enforcement officers, including bomb threats and plans to "nuke" them.

Chris Knute Holverson was scheduled to appear in a Miami-Dade court on Monday for a plea hearing regarding a 2022 case involving charges of misusing 911, making bomb threats, and threatening law enforcement officers.

However, on June 9th, Holverson made a series of approximately 40 calls to the Homestead Police Department's emergency line, where Holverson inquired about his upcoming court date and also engaged in the misuse of 911 by making bomb threats and threatening law enforcement officers.

According to his arrest report, Holverson repeatedly identified himself and affirmed the calls were emergencies while seeking information about his court date.

However, Holverson escalated matters by directing threats toward an individual detective and the city's police chief.

Holverson's threats ranged from expressing a desire to physically harm the detective and disrupt his life to making plans for something "bad" if his demands were not met.

In one of the calls, Holverson allegedly stated, "I hope this is the emergency line, Homestead, very good. From what I hear, (the detective) is not available. What I need to do is to tell you since that is happening, I have people here that are going to bomb and kill you and kill everyone at the police department."

Another call reportedly included Holverson saying, "Here is the thing, [expletive] you, I am going to [expletive] nuke the [expletive] police department, I am going to nuke you, and first of all kill your police chief. I am going to kill your police chief. That's it."

Holverson was arrested by police following the series of calls.

A Miami-Dade judge set a $13,500 bond for Holverson on charges of threatening to place a bomb, threatening to kill a law enforcement officer, and misuse of 911.

As of Monday, Holverson was still held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center due to additional warrants.
