Former Florida Proud Boy Ringleader Found Guilty

A jury has found former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio guilty of orchestrating a plot to attack the U.S. Capitol. The seditious conspiracy convictions coming from the jury in DC after hearing from dozens of witnesses over more than three months. Seditious conspiracy is defined as a plot to overthrow the government, and is from the Civil War era. A jury did not reach a verdict for a fifth member of the group who was on trial. The trial of the white nationalist group has been ongoing since December.

Tarrio, a Miami resident, was charged and tried with four other Proud Boys.

The charges carry a possble prison sentence of 20 years.
