Florida Man Arrested With Enough Fentanyl To Kill 25,000

TAMPA -- “This man was literally selling death and needs to spend the rest of his life in prison.”

Highlands County Sheriff Paul Blackman says his deputies have arrested someone they call one of the county's "most prolific" drug dealers, with enough fentanyl to kill more than 25,000 people. That's about one quarter of the population of the county.

Deputies executed a search warrant Tuesday at the home of 47-year-old Ezzard Dixon, saying he was selling fentanyl and other drugs from his home. They say they found two ounces of fentanyl powder and some 800 pressed fentanyl pills. FDLE will test the pills to determine their potency. They also report finding over five ouces of cocaine, an ounce of methamphetamine, seven grams of oxycodone pills, over three pounds of marijuana, five loaded firearms and just under $3,000 in cash.

Dixon faces several drug trafficking charges, as well as armed drug trafficking and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
