LAKE WALES -- A wrong way crash kills a 27-year-old woman in Lake Wales.
Polk deputies say 39-year-old Mark Poe of Frostproof was driving his pickup west on the eastbound side on State Road 60 early Sunday morning, when his Chevy Silverado struck and crushed a Volkswagen, killing its driver. He had three passengers along for the ride and they all suffered injuries.
Deputies say Poe had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. They found an open bottle of beer in the truck and an open bottle of Jack Daniels Fire whiskey in the median.
