ST. PETERSBURG, FL and WASHINGTON -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi endorsed one of her caucus who's leaving Congress to try to return to the Florida Governor's Mansion. Pelosi is endorsing Charlie Crist for Governor.
A statement from Pelosi quoted in a Crist campaign news release says Crist "has an impenetrable record" in Congress.
Crist called Pelosi "a beacon of Democratic values" who uplifts voices "of Floridians (who) are ready to put divisive rhetoric behind us."
Crist's release also touted his endorsement from two failed Democratic candidates for governor, Jim Davis (who lost in 2006) and Alex Sink (who lost in 2010).
Crist himself lost the Governor's race as the Democratic nominee in 2014, after winning it as a Republican in 2006.
