The Trump administration has accused Harvard University of violating the Civil Rights Act by not adequately protecting Jewish and Israeli students from discrimination. Harvard has received nearly $800 million in federal funds since fiscal year 2023, and the potential loss could severely impact the university's operations.

Despite the accusations, Harvard maintains that it has taken significant steps to address antisemitism on campus. Harvard spokesperson Jason Newton stated, "Harvard has taken substantive, proactive steps to address the root causes of antisemitism in its community," and emphasized the university's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all students.
