(Gainesville, FL) -- The coronavirus has reached the top of the University of Florida football program. Gators head coach Dan Mullen is announcing he has tested positive for COVID-19 in a social media post on Saturday.
The ninth-ranked Gators were supposed to host LSU at the Swamp in Gainesville this weekend, but the game was canceled after at least 21 players and coaches tested positive for the virus, leaving the team with fewer than the required 53 scholarship players.
Dan Mullen had asked the Florida administration to allow them to have 90,000 fans in the stands 'the Swamp' vs LSU so they have a better shot at winning.
Next Saturday's game against Missouri has already been postponed until October 31st.
