SHADY HILLS (WFLA News) -- A pack of three pit bulls blamed for attacks that left two people injured in Pasco County. One of the dogs was shot to death by a Pasco sheriff's deputy when it tried to attack him.
The sheriff's office says a 15-year-old boy and an elderly man were bitten near Crews Lake Park in Shady Hills in separate incidents. The older victim suffered serious wounds, while the teenager received minor injuries. They answered a call at 15046 Lenway Road. Corporal Jason Murphy responded and fired on a dog that tried to attack him. The dog was later euthanized.
Two other pit bulls were impounded. Two pups were returned to the owners of all five dogs. It's not clear how they got loose or whether the owners will face charges.
