The man behind some of the biggest hits on TV has died. Norman Lear is best known for creating 1970s sitcoms "All in the Family," "Maude," "Sanford and Son," "Good Times," and "The Jeffersons." His shows were usually shot on videotape in place of film, used a live studio audience, and dealt with political issues of the day. Lear received five Emmy Awards and two Peabody Awards over the course of his career. In 2017, he was a Kennedy Center Honors recipient. Lear died at his home in Los Angeles of natural causes. Norman Lear was 101.

SoFi Stadium takes the top spot on Billboard Magazine's 2023 Year in Touring, ranking as the number one stadium in the world for concert tours. SoFi also topped the charts for gross ticket sales and attendance with a record-breaking 19 concerts and over one million fans. Rounding out the top three are Mexico City's Foro Sol and New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
Get ready: coming soon to a bolts and fasteners company in Humble [[ umble ]], Texas, the world's largest hex nut. JK Welding Company is constructing "Big Tex: The Incredible Hex," which is expected to break the current record of largest hex nut, held by a company in Slovenia. A company spokesman says the enormous steel nut will measure 16-feet from flat side to flat standing, and 18-feet from point to point. When it's finished, which may be as soon as Friday, Big Tex: The Incredible Hex will be on display at Patriot Bolt and Fasteners in Humble.
Rod Stewart is set to release a new album in 2024. It's called "Swing Fever." It is a collaboration with Jools Holland. and features covers of 13 classic songs. To give fans a preview, they've released the first single: "Almost Like Being in Love". Other tracks include "Lullaby of Broadway," "Sentimental Journey" and "Pennies From Heaven." "Swing Fever" by Rod Stewart with Jools Holland will be released on February 23rd.

A monstrous legend of the motion picture screen seems to be making yet another comeback. We told you on Elsewhere that the number-three movie at the box office this past weekend was "Godzilla Minus One." Now, get ready for Godzilla plus one: a trailer for the upcoming film ''Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire'' has been released. This is a sequel to the 2021 "Godzilla vs. Kong" movie, and it follows the monsters as they battle a "colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world." It will be the 38th film in the Godzilla franchise, along with the 13th in the King Kong franchise. "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" is set to hit theaters on April 12th, 2024.

Super Bowl 58 is headed under the sea. Nickelodeon will host a simulcast of the big game featuring the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants. Sportscasters Nate Burleson and Noah Eagle will call the game with the help of SpongeBob and Patrick Star. The sideline reporters will be Sandy Cheeks and Larry the Lobster. Later this month, Nickelodeon will also air a "Nickmas" version of a the Christmas Day game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders that will feature the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
