BUD'S BLOG, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10th, 2023
I want to personally invite you to join us for as long as you can Friday morning, for my final show before retiring after more than 20 years here at Newsradio WFLA.
I promise to make time for conversation about the hottest topics in the news both locally and nationally, and as always we will welcome your calls, texts and Talkback messages.
Friday's show will feature visits by some very special guests, including:
Our newscaster before Alan did the news, Deborah Roberts, who's now with our sister station Real Radio on the very successful Jim Colbert show, afternoons from 3 to 7 PM.
Mike Yaffee, our Executive Producer before Guy Robberts. Mike's now a successful news talk radio host in Huntsville, Alabama.
We will finally reveal the identity of the next host of "Good Morning Orlando" and welcome my successor to the "50,000 Watt Front Porch" !
The very last guest in my long broadcasting career will be the first person I was ever on the air with, way back in 1966. Mark "Skeet" Capecelatro is the book ends on my career and I know you will enjoy meeting hi and hearing how he helped me get my start in radio, 57 years ago!
Also on Friday's show, I will share some of the highlights and lowlights of my 20+ years here on Newsradio WFLA, and reflect on some of the shows and events I will never forget, and some of the amazing people I have had the privilege of working with, including our amazing current team on Good Morning Orlando, Alan Spector, Guy Robberts, Lizzie Steele, Melissa Foxx and the best boss I've had in my entire career, Ken Holiday.
I'll say "Goodbye, God bless you, and God Bless America!" for the final time, and head off into the retirement, grateful for every minute I've been on the air, and eager to see what the next chapter of my life will bring. I'm also looking forward to being able to spend much more time with my loving wife of 51 years, Lynda, our incredible three grown children Carolyn, Suzanne and Brad, their wonderful mates, and our four fabulous grandchildren, Lily, David, Brinley and Ashlyn.
Thank you from the bottom of my surgically repaired heart for listening to our show, and for all the kindnesses through all the years. You have blessed me beyond measure. Truly, my cup runneth over.
