The leader of the legendary band called The Band has died. Guitarist and singer-songwriter Robbie Robertson and The Band were responsible for classics such as "Up On Cripple Creek" and "The Weight." The Band's 1976 farewell concert "The Last Waltz" was made into a movie by famed director Martin Scorcese, who later enlisted Robertson as composer and music supervisor for numerous movies. Robertson died Wednesday after a long illness, according to his management. Robbie Robertson was 80.

Researchers say a skull dating back 300-thousand years might point to a new branch on the human family tree. The skull found in eastern China in 2015 is unlike another other premodern human fossil ever found. The researchers from China, Spain, and the United Kingdom say the jaw in the skull doesn't fit any existing groups. They say it has features of both premodern and modern humans.
The Barbie craze is spawning a Barbie corn maze, not in Iowa , but in New Jersey. It's at Happy Day Farm in Manalapan, New Jersey, which has a pink Barbie tractor, pink lounge chairs and a lifesize Barbie doll box you can pose in. This all just preparation for the ten-acre Barbie corn maze that will be unveiled at the farm's Fall Festival on September 10th. Guests will get maps to navigate the maze which has two ways out. The Happy Day folks say the short path will take 15-25 minutes, depending on how many selfie you take and the longer route can take up to an hour. The Barbie corn maze will be open through October 30th.
"Barbie" is being banned in Kuwait. A spokesman for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information said late Wednesday that the movie is being banned in the Middle Eastern country because it "promulgates ideas and beliefs that are alien to Kuwaiti society." The ban was announced shortly after the Culture Minister in Lebanon called for the film to be banned in that Middle Eastern country because it "promotes homosexuality" and "questions the necessity of marriage and having a family."
The actor who voiced one of Hank Hill's buddies on the animated series "King of the Hill" has died. Johnny Hardwick provided the voice of Dale Gribble, who was known for his obsession with conspiracy theories. The show was set in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, and Hardwick was a native Texan. He died Tuesday at his home in Austin. Johnny Hardwick was 64.

It's Elvis Week in Memphis. Next Wednesday will mark 46 years since the death of the King of Rock and Roll. There are several events happening at Graceland, including live musical performances and real-life stories. A candlelight vigil will be held in remembrance of The King's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who died earlier this year.
