Santa Tests Out Roller Coaster on Cruise Ship

Santa Claus is checking out the world's first roller coaster at sea.

New pictures released by Carnival Cruise Line show Kris Kringle taking a test run on BOLT, the first-ever roller coaster at sea. The 800-foot-long coaster is one of the amenities on Carnival's newest ship, Mardi Gras.

The ship is still under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.

The Mardi Gras will ultimately call Port Canaveral home once it is put into service in 2021.

The ship's delivery was delayed by COVID-19 and Carnival suspended all of its sailings when the pandemic began in March. The cruise is working to resume operations in the spring.
