Voter registration in Florida is finally entering the digital age.
Leon County Elections Supervisor Mark Early says the state has a new internet portal where you can sign up to vote or change your existing registration.
"To get it fully processed online, you would need your drivers license and the last four (digits) of your Social Security number," he said. "If you're missing either of those components, then you can still go ahead and fill out the form, print it, and it'll print out a paper form which you can then mail to us."
State elections officials say the new web portal has safeguards to verify and protect your identity and personal information.
Those include a state-of-the-art firewall and data encryption.
The web address is www.RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov and it's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in English and Spanish.
The new web site went live Sunday.
