Events Rescheduled/Canceled due to Hurricane Irma

Night of Joy has been canceled on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. The Night of Joy performances on Friday night will take place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex as planned, while Saturday night’s performances have been canceled due to Hurricane Irma.

  • Guests with tickets for Saturday are welcome to attend Friday’s event instead by exchanging their ticket at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Box Office starting at 4 p.m. Friday.
  • Requests for a full refund for either event night will be honored by using the contact information listed below.
  • For a ticket refund please call (407) 939-7818 by January 31, 2018 between the hours of 7:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m., or email us at Ticket.Inquiries@DisneyWorld.com and have your ticket(s) for Saturday evening’s event available so we may process your request. Please use these options rather than coming to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for a refund.

Universal Orlando Resort has made the following operational decisions due to Hurricane Irma:

  • Our destination will close at 7pm on Saturday, Sept. 9.  We will be fully closed on Sunday and Monday. We anticipate normal operating hours on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
  • Our on-site hotels are currently at full capacity and will remain operational as they focus on taking care of our on-site guests.
  • We will hold our Rock the Universe event at Universal Studios Florida tonight, Friday Sept. 8 and will welcome Saturday ticket-holders tonight as well.  The event will be cancelled on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Cranes Roost Sunset Cinema – 9/9 – CANCELED

Altamonte Springs: Trash pickup will occur today only for residents with normal Friday collection. There is NO collection throughout the weekend or on Monday, September 11. Residents are strongly advised to store garbage cans inside, as well as any other loose outdoor items that could become projectiles. The City is only collecting regular refuse today. We will not collect larger items such as yard waste, furniture, etc. Residents must store these items indoors until after the storm.

UCF Football:  The game against Memphis has been canceled.  

FSU Football:  Saturday's game has been canceled.

UF Football:  Saturday's game has been canceled.

Tove Lo:  Show scheduled for Sept 14th at The Plaza has been canceled.

Depeche Mode: September 13th show at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater in Tampa is cancelled. 

RESCHEDULED:

Orlando Pride:  The Orlando Pride vs Seattle Reign game has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 7th at 8pm at Orlando City Stadium.  

OCB:  The OCB game will be played Thursday, September 7th at 4:30pm at Orlando City Stadium

Oasis of the Seas cruise will now depart on Tuesday, Sept 12 for a 5 night cruise instead of leaving on Sunday, Sept 10.

Paramore:  September 9th's show at Dr Phillips Center has been rescheduled for December 5th.  

Adam Ant:  Friday, Saturday and Sunday's shows In Clearwater Jacksonville and Orlando will be rescheduled for a later date TBD.   

POSTPONED:

Miami Dolphins:  The Miami Dolphins' season opener has been postponed until November 19 at Hard Rock Stadium

Apopka Summer BBQ Showdown and Steak Cookoff, new date TBD

Disney on Ice Dare to Dream, new dates are scheduled for May 2018 (dates to be determined).  Tickets will be honored for the rescheduled performances.

Tunnel to Towers 5K – 9/9 – POSTPONED (Organizers will reschedule.)

Damian Marley - 9/12 House of Blues - Postponed to a date to be announced later. Purchased tickets for this show will be honored on the new date. Refunds will be available at point of purchase. 


CLOSINGS:

The City of Altamonte Springs will:

  • Close city parks Thursday, September 7 through Monday, September 11 to include:
    • Eastmonte, Westmonte and Merrill Park
    • Lake Brantley Field House and South Gym
  • Close all city offices on Monday, September 11.
  • NOT collect trash on Monday, September 11.

All park and gym amenities are unavailable including pavilions, civic centers, meeting rooms, playgrounds, common areas, exercise trails, baseball and softball fields, pitching lanes and batting tunnels, basketball, tennis, racquetball, bocce and volleyball courts, as well as the outdoor and therapeutic pools. The City will reschedule all activities accordingly.

The Lake Orienta Boat Ramp is open today and tomorrow for boat removal only. The ramp will close at dusk each day.

Universal Orlando Resort has made the following operational decisions due to Hurricane Irma:

  • Our destination will close at 7pm on Saturday, Sept. 9.  We will be fully closed on Sunday and Monday. We anticipate normal operating hours on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Old Town in Kissimmee will close at 5:00pm on September 9 due to Hurricane Irma.

  • With Hurricane Irma quickly moving towards Central Florida, we are making modifications to our operating hours to ensure the safety of our guests, merchants and staff.  Safety is the number one priority at Old Town so we will be closed until we are able to assess post storm conditions and re-open when it’s safe for everyone to return. 
  • Old Town updated operating hours:
    • Friday, September 8: normal operating hours
    • Saturday, September 9: close at 5:00pm
    • Sunday, September 10: closed
    • Monday, September 11: closed
  • Old Town will update their website, Facebook page and Twitter with additional information as it becomes available.
