The Cleveland Guardians (72-70) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (71-72) 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Steinbrenner Field. The Guardians won the last three games of the four-game series against the Rays to claim the series win.
Carson Williams hit a solo homer in the fifth, but that would be the only offense of the game for Tampa Bay. The Guardians got a RBI triple from Jose Ramirez and a RBI single from Gabrial Arias in the sixth to take a 2-1 lead, which would prove to be the final score.
The Rays are now off on Monday before travelling to Chicago for the week to face the White Sox and Cubs. The Rays begin the series against the White Sox on Tuesday night - first pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 7:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 6:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
