The Detroit Tigers (59-34) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (49-43) 4-2 on Tuesday evening in Detroit.
The Rays took an early 2-0 lead thanks to a Jonathan Aranda homer in the first and a Josh Lowe RBI single in the third. The Tigers answered with single runs in the fourth and fifth to tie the game 2-2. Then in the seventh, it was Colt Keith coming through with a two-run homer for Detroit to lift the Tigers to the win.
The Rays will now look to avoid being swept when they meet in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 5:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 4:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620. The game time was delayed four hours from 1:10 PM due to inclement weather in the area.
