Panthers Score Three Late To Stun Lightning

The Florida Panthers stunned the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 on Monday night in Sunrise to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in the best-of-seven first-round Stanley Cup Playoff series.

The Lightning got goals eleven seconds apart midway through the second period from Mitchell Chaffee and Erik Cernak. At the time, it flipped a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 advantage for Tampa Bay.

That would be the score until very late in the third period. Aaron Eckblad scored to tie the game 2-2 at the 16;13 mark, then eleven seconds later Seth Jones scored to give the Panthers the advantage. Florida added an empty-net goal late to clinch the win.

Andrei Vasilevskiy finished the game 19-of-22 in net for Tampa Bay.

The Lightning now face elimination when the series shifts back to Tampa for game five on Wednesday. Puck drop in game five between the Lightning and Panthers - with the season on the line for Tampa Bay - is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Amalie Arena.
