The top-seeded Florida Gators (32-4) defeated #8-seed UConn (24-11) 77-75 on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina. With the win, the Gators ended UConn's quest for a third consecutive national championship, while advancing to the Sweet 16.
Walter Clayton Jr led the way with 23 points for the Gators. Alijah Martin scored 18 points, while Will Richard added 15 points and six rebounds.
The Gators will now face #4-seed Maryland on Thursday night, after they defeated #12-seed Colorado State 72-71 on Sunday night. The Gators and Terrapins are scheduled to tip off on Thursday evening in San Francisco.
