Even Harold and Kumar are happy to hear that White Castle is finally opening its doors in Orlando.
Monday's opening comes as the family-owned company celebrates its 100th birthday.
The chain's largest free-standing restaurant is part of the $1-billion Village at O-Town West project on Daryl Carter Parkway.
Home of "The Original Slider," White Castle fans are known as "Craves" and the company even operates a fan club dedicated to their biggest supporters.
Traffic around the new restaurant will be jammed, and White Castle spokesman Jamie Richardson says they've been working with the Orange County Sheriff's Office for nearly a month to help improve the flow of cars.
According to the company:
"The Orlando Castle will be open for take-out, dine-in and drive-through service from 8 a.m. to 1a.m. on grand opening day, then reopen on Tuesday with regular operating hours, 9 a.m. to 1a.m., seven days per week. At some point in the future, White Castle will operate24 hours per day. Guests can “crave on” with a maximum order of60sliders per visit."
Richardson says the company hired more than 140 people for this one location.
