Metro Orlando's jobless rate lowest in years.

Florida's jobless rate held steady in March at 3.5%. Metro Orlando's jobless rate was 3%- the lowest it has been in 13 years and the lowest of any major metro area in the state. The report today from the state Department of Economic Opportunity said metro Orlando added more than 32,000 jobs over the last year.

“Florida’s economy continues to thrive, but we will not rest,” Governor Ron DeSantis said. “Our state is focused on creating a resilient business-friendly environment, with low taxes, decreased regulation and support for career and technical education to provide opportunities for all Floridians to succeed.”

The U.S. unemployment rate in March was 3.8%.
