An Indian man was kicked off of a Jet Airways plane after another passenger saw a disturbing message he was about to post on Snapchat. Yogvedant Poddar was in his seat prior to take-off when he pulled a handkerchief over his face and typed "Terrorist on flight, I destroy women’s hearts" in a message meant for his friends.
A passenger sitting behind Poddar saw the message and alerted a member of the flight crew, who told the pilot. After speaking with an air traffic controller, the pilot decided to abort take-off and returned to the gate.
Authorities removed the 24-year-old from the flight and detained him for questioning. Poddar told them the message was just a joke and that he was not a terrorist. They removed his luggage from the plane but found nothing suspicious during a search of his belongings.
After being questioned for hours, Poddar was handed over to the police, who arrested him. They have not said what charges Poddar will face.
The flight was delayed for about an hour while security officials re-screened the luggage of everybody on board.
