Tight Senate Race for Florida

A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows the race for the U-S Senate seat in Florida can't get any closer.

Pollster Peter Brown says Governor Rick Scott and Senator Bill Nelson are tied at 49 percent.

"It is hard to imagine a closer race than the one that currently shows Florida Governor Rick Scott in a dead heat with Florida U.S. Senator Bill Nelson for Mr. Nelson's Senate seat," he said.

According to the poll, Scott has an 8 point lead with men and Nelson has an 8 point lead with women.

The poll also shows Nelson leading among independent voters, and Brown says they're the key to winning this election.
