Officials with Orange County fire rescue say two workers were killed Wednesday morning in a construction-related accident.
According to accounts from officials, the workers were part of a crew working from a scaffold at a JW Marriott hotel near Walt Disney World.
Investigators noted that the construction site is not on Disney property and the hotel under construction is not among any of the local Disney hotels.
Fire rescue workers say the scaffold at the construction site gave way, and two workers who were between the seventh and sixth floors at the time were killed.
Authorities say the workers fell 80 feet when the scaffolding gave way.
Fire rescue workers say the workers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say a third worker was able to hang onto the scaffold and climb back to safety, suffering only minor injuries.
Both Marriott and the construction contracting company being used to build the hotel expressed their condolences to the families of the workers.
Both outfits promised full cooperation with the agencies that would be conducting the accident investigation.
