Deputies: Elvis Impersonator Faces Sex Charges

Authorities in Brevard County say a Palm Bay resident, and Elvis Presley impersonator, is facing charges for trying to meet an underage girl for sex.

According to an arrest affidavit, Paul Amato had responded to an online ad back in March and began a conversation with the father of a 13-year-old girl.

The ad, according to investigators, sought people who were into "a certain lifestyle."

And, the authorities should know, since they purportedly were the ones who posted that particular ad.

The entire thing was apparently a sting, and the "father" was an undercover operative with the Brevard County Sheriff's Special Victims unit.

The "13-year-old-girl" never existed.

According to the affidavit, Amato told the "father" that he was an Elvis impersonator, and that he wanted to be in costume when he had sex with the girl.

Investigators say the two agreed to meet at the parking lot of a home supply store and, sure enough, Amato showed up in costume.

The meeting, according to case records, was in April, and investigators say Amato was promptly arrested.

Authorities say that Amato later told officers he had never done something like this before.
