Steady Employment in Florida

The Labor Department says Florida's unemployment rate is 3-point-9 percent, and that number hasn't changed in 7 months.

The Sunshine State continues to be a national leader in job creation... adding almost 14 thousand in March.

But there were more people entering the workforce last month and the number of people on the unemployment list grew by about 2-thousand.

There are now 400 thousand Floridians on the jobless list.

Saint John's and Okaloosa counties have the lowest rates in the state at 3 percent.

Sumpter County has the highest: 5-point-4 percent.

Florida added lots of new jobs last month in health care, hospitality, construction and manufacturing.

But there were big losses in professional and business services.
