Gov Signs Florida Budget

Governor Rick Scott has made the state budget official.

Scott signed the document Friday.

This is the largest budget in Florida history: almost $89 billion.

But the governor's veto list is one of his smallest.

Rick Scott removed just $64 million worth of projects.

Museums were a favorite target, apparently.

Scott vetoed funding for the Florida Quilt Museum, the Okaloosa County Historical Museum, the Camp Blanding Museum, the American Craftsman Museum, and the Great Explorations Children's museum.

The governor vetoed a variety of projects at state colleges and universities, as well.

But Scott also used a veto to restore $15 million in funding for Zika research that the legislature had tried to remove.
