Fla. House Proposes 'Violence Vouchers'

Republicans in the Florida House of Representatives want to send more kids to private schools using so-called violence vouchers.

House Speaker Richard Corcoran says any child in public school who is bullied should have to right to attend another other school in the county... including private schools.

"That's why we want to give those children in those situations in the public school system, nothing's perfect, the opportunity to go out there and get a world-class education free from violence, free from abuse," he said.

Corcoran says there were 47 thousand reports of violent incidents at public schools last year and those are the kids who would qualify for a voucher.
