The Florida Senate is back to full strength now that Annette Taddeo has been sworn in.
Taddeo, a Democrat, won the special election for District 40 in Miami-Dade County,
She told the Senate it reminded her of younger days when she ran the Dublin marathon during a tropical storm.
"Sometimes when you're running for office there are so many things hitting you," she said. "But as long as you keep your goal and you know that you really want to do this and this is what you want to accomplish, that's how I feel about being here. I really feel that we can do so much good."
They're still outnumbered, but Democrats now have 16 seats in the Florida Senate.
That's the most they've had since 1998.
