Unemployment in Florida was 4.0 percent for the month of August.
That's down one tenth of a percent from July, and four tenths of a percent lower than the national average.
The figures were provided by state labor officials.
The number-crunchers in the Florida capital say the figures released Friday showed the lowest unemployment rate for Florida in over a decade.
Officials say out of a state labor force of more than 10 million, roughly 408,000 people were jobless.
Among major industries, officials say construction gained the most jobs in August, with 35,000 people being added to those payrolls.
