Bay County Death Sentence Overturned

The Florida Supreme Court is upholding the murder conviction of Kevin Jeffries... who sent to Death Row for killing a 90-year-old man in Bay County. But 2 of the jurors at his original trial voted against the death penalty, so the high court says Jeffries gets a do-over.

If prosecutors want him executed, they'll have to go back to court and get a unanimous vote from a brand new jury. If not, he'll get life in prison. Jeffries is one of the more than 150 death row inmates in Florida who get another chance to beat the executioner because of that new requirement for a unanimous jury.
