Rosy Report from University Leaders

The Board of Governors of the state university system has issued a glowing report on their own progress.

Board chairman Tom Kuntz says they're doing their best to keep a lid on the cost of a college degree.

"The progress we're making is fantastic, and everybody should feel good about where we are," he said.

A bachelor’s degree from a state university costs an average of about $15 thousand. That's a competitive price, according to those who keep track of such costs.

Kuntz says graduation rates are up and fewer students are dropping out after their freshman year.

He adds that they're doing a better job making sure grads are being trained for jobs in the STEM fields... science, technology, engineering and math.
