US Education Secretary Betsy DeVos spent a day in Florida this week, but not in public schools.
DeVos chose, instead, on a Tuesday visit to tour a private school run by a church and a charter school run by a university.
Why no traditional public schools?
"I can't really answer that question specifically, other than that my team continues to look for great opportunities to see ways that schools are addressing the needs of students differently and uniquely," she said.
The head of the state's teacher union blasted Secretary DeVos... saying her entire career has been dedicated to undermining public schools and attempting to privative the education system.
