It's been a year and a half since Florida killed a death row inmate, but the state's highest court has just cleared the way for the executioner.
The Florida Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from Mark Asay, who was convicted of two murders in Jacksonville 30 years ago.
Asay's execution is scheduled for August 24 at Florida State Prison.
The high court dismissed every one of Asay's legal claims, but it did apologize for a previous decision where they described one of his victims as a black man dressed as a woman.
It was actually a white or Hispanic man dressed as a woman and the court says it regrets the error.
