Florida Could Legalize Fireworks

Floridians could soon be able to use fireworks legally.

The push to make the sale of fireworks legal on Independence Day, Memorial Day and New Year's Eve is being pushed by State Senator Travis Hutson of St. Augustine, and Representative Ana Maria Rodriguez of Doral.

Under Florida law devices like sparklers are legal for Floridians to buy, but firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, roman candles, dago bombs, and any fireworks containing an explosive substance is not.

The measure is set to be considered in the 2020 legislative session.
